Collaborate with us as a MESA Correspondent
Thank you for your interest in becoming a MESA Correspondent!
MESA Correspondents are early career researchers and public health professionals who report from major malaria conferences and scientific meetings, capturing key discussions, emerging evidence, and scientific advances, making them accessible to the wider malaria community including many who could not attend.
The experience goes beyond writing. Correspondents work alongside an editorial team, sharpen their scientific communication skills, expand their professional networks, and deepen understanding of the global malaria landscape. For many it has opened doors to new collaborations, greater visibility and opportunities that extend after the conference ends.
Through the Correspondents Program, MESA ensures that knowledge presented and discussed at landmark scientific meetings does not stay in the room but reaches researchers, national malaria programs, and policymakers across the world, amplifying diverse voices, democratising access to cutting-edge science, and creating a lasting record for the community to reference and build on.
Correspondents who wish to deepen their engagement with MESA’s mission may go on to become MESA Ambassadors — moving from episodic knowledge sharing to an ongoing, embedded connection between their institution or country and the broader malaria community.
Ready to apply? If you are an early-career researcher or public health professional with a passion for malaria science and scientific communication, we would love to hear from you.
